We all know to say thank you
But we don’t just feel to say thank you.
I told someone, take care and have a great weekend.
He responded with a warm handshake and radiant, courtesy smile.
Really, I told myself, thank you can open doors
An hour later, as I was about to enter a building, the door suddenly opened
A granny in her 80s just went in before me after shopping at a grocery
Struggling with her mobile scooter and shopping bags, I asked,
“Are you OK?”
“I’m all right,” she answered passively trying to tuck the scooter
Then, I asked if she needed help going upstairs
She instead handed me the bags trying to describe her flat number
I could barely hear her description from her trembling voice
But she diligently spelt her name on the door
DOW, she shouted out.
As if the DOW, stands for Don’t Only Wait, so, take the initiative
Half way up, she shouted again.
So, it is that easy to say thank you, I murmured.
Thank you is a simple phrase with loaded meanings
Thank you, when it comes from the heart, can bear fruits
It can fill and yield broken hearts
It can move mountains
It can make a difference
Thanks you, for reading this piece
